Don’t Stress
This is easier said than done, but the best thing you can do for your hair is to simply relax. Whether it's worrying about your hair length or anything else, stress will often show up in our skin as well as our hair. So try to reduce your stress as much as possible if you want to achieve healthier hair. Once again, the health of your hair is more important than how long it is. Focus on its health and before you even realize it, the length will come!
Take Your Vitamins
There are two very common deficiencies that I see in many of my hair loss patients
1) Vitamin D3- the amount to supplement depends on your baseline levels
2) Ferritin – 50-70 is normal, optimal is 70
For both of these if your levels are normal, supplements are not necessary.
Check with your doctor to evaluate your optimal level.
Take A Hair Supplement
Many patients ask me if these work?
Yes and No it depends which one. When it comes to learning how to keep your hair healthy, a vitamin supplement can really help strengthen your overall hair health. If your hair is not growing it could be because you are lacking essential vitamins and healthy fats in your diet. A daily hair supplement will work along with your diet to fill in whatever nutrients you might be lacking and promote healthy hair growth. I recommend Viviscal because of its proprietary ingredient called Amino Mar. This ingredient has been shown to significantly reduce hair shedding within 3 months of daily consumption.
Don’t Skip Your Trim
Lots of people skip trims to avoid sacrificing length, but trims actually help to increase hair growth since damaged ends lead to breakage and split ends. Those fuzzy ends don’t help.
